The Axis 5026-401 is a PoE+ over coax adapter kit that lets you move from analog CCTV to IP surveillance while keeping the coax cables already installed in your walls and ceilings. It is a straightforward way to give an existing infrastructure the bandwidth and power required by modern Axis network cameras without the cost or disruption of pulling new cable.

The kit contains two matched pieces. The Device Unit mounts close to the camera and links the camera’s network port to the coax line. The Base Unit stays in the control room or wiring closet and connects the other end of that coax to your Ethernet switch. Working together, they send both data and up to PoE+ power over distances of 328 feet, making it practical to cover long corridors, parking areas, or outbuildings that sit far from the switch.

Each unit carries clear LED indicators that confirm network link, speed, and power status, so installers can verify a solid connection at a glance. If you plan to deploy a camera that draws more power than standard PoE+ provides, an optional local power supply can be added without changing the basic setup.

The Axis T8640 kit serves schools with decades-old coax runs, retail chains that need overnight upgrades, healthcare facilities that cannot afford downtime, and industrial sites where cable pulls around heavy equipment are costly. Mounting hardware supports walls, racks, and DIN rails, giving you flexibility in crowded cabinets or ceiling spaces.

By reusing the cable you already own, the Axis 5026-401 cuts labor costs, shortens project timelines, and opens the door to higher resolution video, remote access, and advanced analytics available only on IP networks.

Highlights:
  • Converts existing coax infrastructure to support IP cameras that use PoE
  • Sends power and data up to 328 feet over a single coax line
  • Built-in LEDs show link speed, connectivity, and power status at a glance
  • Kit includes Device Unit for the camera side and Base Unit for the network side
  • Optional 12 V DC or 24 V AC power input supports cameras that draw higher wattage
  • Mounts on a wall, inside a rack, or on a DIN rail for flexible installation
